11. Outdoor Events

12. Balloon Float Time
Balloon float time depends on the type of balloon, environment, temperature, handling, and exposure to sunlight, wind, or air conditioning.
Your balloon décor will be designed according to the specifications of your event.
Latex helium balloons generally have a shorter float time than mylar or foil balloons.
Average float times:
- Latex helium balloons: less than 24 hours on average
- Mylar/Foil balloons: up to 1 week on average
- 11-inch latex balloons without Hi-Float: approximately 16 hours indoors
- 16-inch latex balloons without Hi-Float: approximately 30 hours indoors
Float times may be reduced by heat, high elevation, direct sunlight, air conditioning, humidity, or wind.
13. Float Times for Mylar/Foil Balloons
In optimal indoor environments, mylar or foil balloons may remain full and tight for approximately 2 to 3 days.
Air-conditioned air may cause these balloons to shrink or appear deflated. They may return to a normal state when exposed to warmer air.
Mylar/Foil balloons must not be released outdoors because they can become entangled in power lines and cause electrical hazards.
14. Hi-Float Treatment
Hi-Float is a non-toxic sealant used inside latex balloons to extend float time.
Hi-Float is effective only when balloons are kept indoors, away from direct sunlight, and not exposed to breezes from fans, open windows, or air conditioning.
In ideal conditions, Hi-Float may extend float times as follows:
- 11-inch latex balloons: 2 to 3 days
- 16-inch latex balloons: approximately 3 days
Float time may be significantly reduced in unusually warm, unusually cool, very humid environments, or at elevations above 2,500 feet.
Any bouquet or balloon product that includes “HF” in the product number includes Hi-Float treatment.
Bulk orders of plain latex balloons may be ordered with or without Hi-Float treatment.
15. Effects of Temperature, Sunlight, Air Conditioning, and Wind
Balloon performance may be affected by environmental conditions.
On hot days or under direct sunlight, balloons may pop within a short period of time. The same may happen indoors if balloons are exposed to direct sunlight through windows.
Very cool environments may cause helium molecules to shrink, reducing the size and float time of balloons.
A constant breeze around a balloon may increase helium loss, resulting in reduced float time.
16. Ceiling Precautions
Static, rough textures, invisible fibers, or irregular surfaces on ceilings may cause balloons to pop.
Before releasing balloons to a ceiling, allow them to remain tied to an anchor for at least five hours. This allows the balloons to shrink slightly, making the balloon surface thicker and more resistant.
After five hours, test 2 to 3 balloons against the ceiling. If they do not pop, it may be safe to release additional balloons. If they pop, allow more time and test again.
17. Balloon Care Instructions
To help preserve your balloon arrangement, please follow these care instructions:
- Do not place helium balloons in front of or under air conditioning.
- Do not place balloons directly under sunlight.
- Do not leave balloon decorations inside a vehicle.
- Do not expose balloons to heat, steam, wind, rain, sharp surfaces, or extreme temperature changes.
- Keep balloons indoors whenever possible.
- Keep balloons away from pets, small children, sharp objects, and rough surfaces.
Helium gas is not flammable. However, when helium balloons are exposed to cold air or air conditioning, gas particles may compress and the balloons may appear deflated. This is a natural process.
When balloons are exposed to direct sunlight or heat, latex or metallic material may expand and pop.
With proper care, in a shaded, air-conditioned room, and away from direct sunlight, some arrangements may last 24 to 48 hours or more.
Microfoil/Mylar balloons may last 7 to 15 days or more, depending on weather conditions, handling, and treatment.
18. Weather Clause
Balloons are sensitive to weather conditions, including but not limited to rain, sun, wind, humidity, and temperature changes.
Although Balloons To Go uses professional-quality balloons, some balloons may occasionally deflate sooner than expected.
The client understands that balloon structures displayed outdoors are not guaranteed to last for any specific period of time.
The client also understands that the provider is not responsible for balloon structures affected by outdoor conditions, weather changes, or acts of nature.
19. Balloon Safety and Precautions
Do not allow anyone to inhale helium from filling equipment or balloons.
Inhaling helium directly from tanks or balloons can cause dizziness, drowsiness, loss of consciousness, asphyxiation, serious injury, or death.
Popping balloons can cause eye, facial, or bodily injury. Protective gear, including eye protection, should be used when appropriate.
Clients are responsible for supervising all use and preventing misuse or abuse of helium, balloons, equipment, and event materials.
Do not release mylar or foil balloons outdoors. Power failures may occur if these balloons become entangled in electrical lines.
Popped latex balloons may present a choking hazard for small children and pets. Broken or uninflated balloons should be disposed of immediately.
Children under the age of seven should have constant adult supervision while playing with or being near balloons.
Latex and microfoil balloons pose no threat to humans, wildlife, or the environment if handled responsibly.
Latex balloons used in décor are 100% biodegradable.
The client must inform Balloons To Go if the recipient or any event attendee has a latex allergy so that latex materials can be avoided when possible.
Balloons To Go is not responsible for damages, injuries, or incidents caused by helium inhalation, balloon misuse, swallowing balloons, popping balloons, latex allergies, or failure to follow safety precautions.
20. Indemnification and Hold Harmless
The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Balloons To Go, balloonstogofl.com, its owners, employees, representatives, contractors, and affiliates from all claims, losses, expenses, fees, attorney fees, costs, judgments, damages, injuries, or liabilities that may arise from the acts or omissions of the client, the client’s guests, event attendees, vendors, agents, or third parties.
